Inauguration of the New Diocese of Wad Medani

On 17^th October 2009 the new Diocese of Wad Medani was inaugurated out of the Diocese of Khartoum by The Rt. Revd. Dr. Joseph Garang Atem, Archbishop's Representative and Bishop of the Diocese of Renk.

The following was carried out:

• Inauguration of the Diocese of Wad Medani
• Setting up of Diocesan Structures
• Electing Diocesan Secretary and Treasurer
• Nomination of Candidates for the post of bishop

Milano Gibriel was elected Diocesan Secretary and Revd. Robin Reith Diocesan as Treasurer

The following were nominated for post of bishop:

• Revd. Canon Samaan Farjalla
• Revd. Samir Bulus Idris
• Ven Canon Thomas Taban

Elections for the above will take place early next year 2009.
